Scout, scout, let it all out
When it comes to pest management, a robust scouting program is one of the things you can’t do without. Join Scouting School in Barry County this year!
Integrated pest management principles are built on identifying and quantifying pests. Whether you scout your own fields or hire crop scouts each year, Scouting School 2025 is an opportunity for hands-on scouting training and networking with Michigan State University Extension specialists and educators. This scouting school is designed for entry level interns or early career agronomists, and a certificate of completion is available upon request.
The class is limited to 30 people to make sure each student can participate and interact. It is split into three days to address field findings throughout the season. This year, Scouting School will be held at the Kellogg Biological Station, 3700 E Gull Lake Drive, Hickory Corners, MI 49060, in Barry County on May 14, June 18 and July 16. The cost is $150 per person, which includes educational materials and tools and lunch on the first day.
