Tomato volunteer survives Michigan winter

The recent storms have led to a discovery of surviving tomato volunteers from 2010 in a potato field in southwest Michigan.

Monday, July 11, was an interesting day in southwest Michigan from tornadoes and biblical deluges, but the biggest surprise was a potato field with surviving tomato volunteers from 2010. The tomatoes had been covered with fungicide and were prolific within the crop and should not present a late blight threat.
