PEARS
MSU Extension uses PEARS, the Program Evaluation and Reporting System, to report on our work and make plans. PEARS has modules for creating surveys, making action plans and professional development plans, reporting on program activities, indirect activities, partnerships, coalitions, PSE, direct contacts, and reflecting through quarterly efforts, success stories, and action plan outcomes.

D2L Course
The PEARS D2L course is your best source of information for PEARS. It contains training videos, instructional materials, and expectations for reporting. To access the PEARS D2L course, go to https://d2l.msu.edu/d2l/le/content/952802/Home and log in with your MSU net ID.
Action Plans and PD Plans
Every fall MSU Extension employees create action plans and professional development plans for the upcoming year. You can find more details in the PEARS annual planning section of the OD website
PEARS Crash Course
Are you new to PEARS? Confused about what goes where? Not sure the difference between a partnership and a coalition? Don't know where to find guides? Unsure what a direct contact is? These two and a half hour PEARS intensives are just what you need. In this training you will be learn what goes where in PEARS, where to find self-paced training materials, and get tips for data entry. PEARS Deeper Dives
This series of trainings is intended to follow the PEARS Crash Course. The PEARS Crash Course helps you figure out what to report where. These Deeper Dives help you to learn how to actually do that reporting. Each training will focus on a particular part of PEARS, please join for whichever sessions seem relevant to you. These do not need to be attended in any particular order, but I would encourage you to take the crash course first.
Quarterly Efforts – 1 hour
This PEARS Deeper Dive should be attended after you attend the PEARS Crash Course. During this deeper dive, you will learn how to enter a Quarterly Effort report. We will discuss how to answer each question in Quarterly Efforts.

Direct Contacts and the CRM – 1 hour
This PEARS Deeper Dive should be attended after you attend the PEARS Crash Course. During this deeper dive you will learn how to enter a Direct Contacts and how to use the CRM (Community Relationships Module).

Creating Surveys in PEARS – 1 hour
During this deeper dive, you will learn how to create and distribute surveys in PEARS. If you have a survey you want to build out in PEARS, please bring a word document of the survey with you and, if able, email it to nlundeen@msu.edu at least 24 hours before the training session. This training will not discuss what makes a good survey, rather this training is focused on how to put a survey into the PEARS system for distribution and data collection

Pulling reports – 2 hours, interactive/practice
During this deeper dive you will learn how to view reports in PEARS and pull exports to create your own reports.

PEARS Office Hours
Drop-in to ask Norma Lundeen questions about PEARS. When you arrive at office hours you will be put in a waiting room. Support is provided one-on-one.
