Bio:

Gauri Awalgaonkar has been a graduate student at the School of Packaging since Fall 2015. Prior to coming to MSU she had a masters in Food Science from India and had worked in food industry for 4 years. In addition to her research, she teaches the undergraduate Paper and Paperboard packaging.

Research Focus:

Currently, Gauri is investigating active packaging approaches to counteract the action of ripening hormone (ethylene) and increase the shelf life of produce. She is working on integrating the domains of food and packaging together. She recently presented her work at United Fresh conference 2017 in Chicago.
