Heather Borden
Heather is the Michigan Produce Safety Logistics Coordinator housed at Michigan State University Extension in the Institute of Agriculture and Agribusiness. Her role at MSU Extension is to coordinate the Food Safety Modernization Act- Produce Safety Rule Trainings and On-Farm Readiness Reviews for produce growers in Michigan. The FSMA Produce Safety Rule Trainings help growers learn about the federal laws related to the production of produce that is typically eaten raw. The On-Farm Readiness Review program provides Michigan growers with a free one-on-one consultation (at their farm) to help them understand how the FSMA Produce Safety Rule applies to their produce farm.
