PSM Classroom Tech

PSM has 14 classrooms used by PSM Instructors in the PSSB, PBL and MPS buildings. The technology in these rooms vary, with some being University supported and others supported by the HRT or PSM departments. We have five classrooms that are hybrid classrooms, which means they have a 4k camera on an arm and document camera.  In Fall 2021, we hope to upgrade one more classroom to have hybrid capabilities.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question: How do I record my lecture later so that I can use it for an online session or for playing later?

  • Answer:  Use Kaltura Media Space Recorder, which can record right to the cloud.   MSU's Kaltura Media Space, you will be able to log off of the tech cart immediately, and this will facilitate easy capture of your lecture and you will not have to wait for several minutes for the process to complete as required by zoom and other capture methods.

Question:  Can I use my laptop computer with any tech cart in PSM classrooms?

  • Answer:  Yes, if you don't have HDMI and VGA Inputs, you may need an adapter to connect your laptop to the tech cart.  Unfortunately instructors should know that in hybrid classrooms there is no way to connect your laptop to the 4k room camera or the document camera, so it is recommended you use a host computer if the tech cart has one.

Question:  Can I get a Microsoft team created for my course.

  • Answer:  Yes you should contact the MSU helpdesk at 432-6200 for assistance with that.

Question:  Who should I contact if I have issues with the tech cart, equipment or computer in a hybrid class room.

  • Answer:  MSU IT. Services  432-6200  They can quickly radio dispatch someone to assist if needed.
