The Quantitative Fisheries Center seeks to provide a research, outreach/service, and teaching program to

  • build greater capacity within fishery management agencies in quantitative methods;
  • improve quantitative methods for assessing fish stocks;
  • assist agencies to use model-based approaches in decision making;
  • develop a better understanding of fish community and population dynamics.

In Memoriam: Dr. Norine Dobiesz

Dr. Norine Dobiesz, a scientific programmer/senior research associate at the QFC since 2013, passed away December 2018 after battling abdominal cancer.  Norine was a staple at the QFC providing computing advice to students, research associates, and faculty and was a major advocate for hard thinking, data integrity, and software version control.  She is greatly missed.
