Wood and wood composites industries
We have special projects, workshops, and outreach with sawmill, OSB and particleboard plants, as well as the furniture industry. We collaborate with institutions such as the Forest Products Society, the Society of Wood Science and Technology, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, the Southeast Michigan Natural Resources Alliance, the American Wood Institute, and the Michigan Forest Biomaterial Institute, and local industries to develop special events targeting identified needs. Some of the topics of recent workshops organized with the Forest Products Society include:

- Innovative packaging and transportation of wood products
- Wood products marketing
- Expanding the bioeconomy: “Thinking outside the barrel" - emerging opportunities in utilizing wood for alternative forms of energy
