Ph.D. Student, Research Assistant
Samaneh is a Ph.D. student at School of Packaging, Michigan State University. She is conducting her Ph.D. project in Prof. Ramani Narayan lab in Bio-based Materials Research Group (BMRG) at Michigan State University.
Samaneh obtained her Master’s degrees in “Materials and Energy for Sustainable Development” and “Quality and Environmental Management” fields from University of Boras, Sweden. Samaneh has been involved in several R&D projects in industry-manufacturing as a mechanical engineer prior to getting started her graduate education.
The main focus of Samaneh Ph.D. project is to introduce a new class of UV blocking materials for advanced packaging which will address reliable performance for long-term application in superior environment. Her project involves a multidisciplinary approach that includes the use of life cycle assessment tool to assess carbon and environmental footprint of bio-based polymers, as well as compost disintegration of biodegradable polymers for sustainable packaging.
