  • Dr. Tamara Cushing, Extension Forest Business Specialist, University of Florida
    • Dr. Tamara Cushing is an Extension Forest Business Specialist at the University of Florida. Her primary expertise is in taxation of forests and forest products. Dr. Cushing holds a forestry degree from the University of Florida, two Master’s degrees – one in Forest Economics and one in Taxation from Mississippi State University, and a PhD from the University of Georgia in Forest Finance. She works to educate landowners, foresters and tax professionals about the economics of growing trees and tax interactions with forestry in addition to educating landowners about succession. Prior to joining UF in 2021, Dr. Cushing was on the faculty at Kentucky, Clemson and Oregon State and worked for F&W Forestry as a forest economist. She is an active member of the Society of American Foresters and served as the 2020 President.
