2023 English Riding Horse Camp Day 2

Our campers are having a blast!!

In the morning, our green pepper group got ready to ride such as get their helmets, boots, tack, harness on to ride!

Animal Chores

Each camp does chores to help around the farm giving campers the experience of being a farmer! It consists of walking our baby goats, gathering chicken and duck eggs, playing with the bunnies and taking care of our sheep!

Colors and Markings

Campers had to identify the characteristics, breeds and more of a horse! Also, they learned about the digestive track of a horse!

Stick Horse craft

As a fun activity for campers, they created a cute stick horse on a wooden stick then stuffed a sock and added ears, eyes then colored it! At the end of the day, they were able to bring it home!

Horse Farm Map

This is a new activity that they’re doing this year! They were given a big sheet of paper to draw about 10 acers for a farm to add the barns, a pasture, horses and a field.

Horse time

Every day everyone gets an opportunity to ride the horses and practice their skills! It’s always a fun time for each pepper group. While they wait, a steward is leading them in a game or a song to pass the time.

That’s a wrap on day 2 of horse camp! Stay tuned for day 3.
