Caputo is Named the Newest Homer Nowlin Chair at Michigan State University

Vincenzina Caputo will start as the new Nowlin Chair on August 16th, 2024.

East Lansing, MI: Dr. Vincenzina Caputo, an Associate Professor in the Department of Agricultural, Food, and Resource Economics (AFRE) at Michigan State University (MSU) was recently awarded the position of Nowlin Chair.

The Nowlin Chair is an endowed chair in MSU’s College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR). As stated on CANR’s website, an endowed chair is a “faculty member with significant experience and accomplishments in their fields. Individuals in this position have built a large network of collaborators while also developing a strong research portfolio.

Dr. Caputo will start as the new Nowlin Chair on August 16, 2024. As a result, Caputo will receive additional funding to further her research work and provide opportunities for prospective students to join AFRE to get research experience.

About Dr. Vincenzina Caputo: Caputo is an Associate Professor at the Department of Agricultural, Food, and Resource Economics, appointed in the tenure system. Dr. Caputo’s research focuses on modeling consumer food choice behavior and demand for novel food products and new food technologies integrating various disciplines such as economics, marketing, neuroeconomics, behavioral economics, and sensory science. Her work is comprised of two major components: (1) empirical analysis of consumer decision-making behavior; (2) methodological innovations to improve the validity and reliability of experimental methods in general and discrete choice experiments in particular.
