FCCP Spanish Mini-course incorporated into Peru’s SERFOR education platform

The Peru National Forest and Wildlife Service (SERFOR) has incorporated FCCP Spanish Mini-course, “Comprendiendo la Gestión del Carbono Forestal,” into the SERFOR education platform. The course aims to bring inclusive, focused training on forests and climate change to new audiences in this important tropical forest country.

The mini-course condenses ~20 hours of information from the FCCP original course, Understanding Forest Carbon Management into a quick ~1.5-hour, interactive learning experience. Key topics were identified and pulled into the new mini-course, structured for a professional audience, and translated into Spanish. Learners can review key topics such as carbon cycle and storage science, carbon measurement, forest carbon management considerations, and climate change solutions.

SERFOR plans to launch this course in coordination with the USFS in Fall 2022. New updates to the SERFOR online learning platform will present an improved course experience and educational tools for "Understanding Forest Carbon Management". The course can be found under the learning category, “Forestry and Wildlife Technician”.
