I have spent about two years among the Kara for my PhD research, and published several articles about South Omo, with a book publication forthcoming, and my edited volume “Ethiopian Images of self and other” available as a free download. While I have not travelled to Ethiopia in recent years, I continue working on my data, publishing research papers, and attending conferences. I aim to eventually return for further research in Kara. My previous academic affiliations include the University of Mainz (with Prof. Ivo Strecker) and the MPI for Social Anthropology in Halle/Saale (with Prof. Günther Schlee).
