I am broadly interested in exploring habitat management methods to more sustainably conserve beneficial insects and deter pest insects in crop production. Throughout my master’s research, I explored how asparagus agroecosystems can be better managed to control a key insect pest. Now in my doctoral studies, I am investigating how effects of urbanization such as habitat loss and climate change are influencing pollinator communities and pollination efficiency in organic cucurbit production. Additionally, I am interested in exploring which social-ecological factors affect the perspectives of farmers, and how that influences pollinator management and resulting pollinator communities.
