Kelly Stelter is a Michigan State University Extension 4-H program coordinator in Berrien County. She has served in this role since 2017.

In this role, Kelly Stelter provides leadership and management of local 4-H programs, volunteers, and youth participants in Berrien County. She promotes and strengthens the Berrien County 4-H program by developing programs and partnerships, promoting, and evaluating 4-H programs, and recruiting and training volunteers. Kelly is also the liaison from the state Michigan 4-H office helps to ensure that statewide opportunities and information is available to local participants.

She also serves as the 4-H Mark of Excellence Award Coordinator, New 4-H Program Coordinator Mentor and is a member of the 4-H Special Needs POD. Kelly is a member of the NAE4-HYD Ag Literacy and STEM working Teams. 

Kelly grew up in the Wisconsin 4-H program, where she participated in projects that included swine, sheep, food and nutrition, home environment (expressive arts and crafts), woodworking, counter cross stitching, community service, civic engagement, and several leadership roles in her county program. Kelly was a member of her local counties 4-H Junior Leaders, 4-H Ambassadors, and a state Key Award recipient.

Prior to joining MSU Extension in 2017, Kelly attended Michigan State University where she worked as a student assistant and research technician in the Animal Science department and was a member of the 2011 Michigan State University Livestock Judging Team. She earned a dual bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and Agribusiness Management. Kelly spent several years working for the University of Illinois Extension as a 4-H Program Coordinator prior to joining the MSU Extension in Berrien County.

Kelly is a recipient of the Achievement of Service award in 2023 from the Michigan Association of Extension Youth Staff (MAE4-HYS) and National Association of Extension 4-H Youth Development Staff (NAE4-HYD). She has served as the Vice Chair (2021) and Chair (2022) of the Southwest Region – MAE4-HYS. She is a certified Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) instructor.
