While attaining her BS in Managerial Economics at University of California, Davis, Natalie took courses focusing on natural resource and environmental economics that cultivated her interest in resource management. After graduation, she interned in Tena, Ecuador for the provincial government in the Department of Drainage and Irrigation. Natalie decided to pursue graduate studies and joined the Agricultural Economics Department at Purdue University. Her master’s research work was with Dr. Carson Reeling on water quality research pertaining to pollution abatement decisions of the agricultural sector. She is now working with Dr. Scott Swinton on farmer decision-making under risk and crop yield loss mitigation under climate change scenarios. Natalie is excited to expand her understanding of ecosystem services, as well as develop skills in extension outreach and fieldwork.
