Sampriti was born and brought up in Kolkata (India), popularly known as the “City of Joy.” Growing up in a densely populated metro city, her association with economics began at an early age. Sampriti wanted to learn and explore ways through which she could contribute to the wellbeing of people around her. This motivated Sampriti to pursue a degree in economics. After completing her MSc in economics, she joined a leading market research organization. Sampriti also served as a Research Assistant before starting her Ph.D. She intends to learn and acquire new skills so that she can contribute to meaningful academic research. Sampriti is interested in development economics, environmental economics, and issues concerning developing countries. In her free time, she likes to paint and read. Sampriti also loves to travel and trek.
