2018 Landscape Architecture Scholarship Fundraiser Golf Outing

This year’s outing raised $1,700 for student scholarships. The participants witnessed the passing of an era, with Paul Nieratko announcing this was his last year organizing the golf outing on behalf of the Landscape Architecture Alumni and Advisory Board. -

Amanda Wakefield, a senior majoring in Landscape Architecture at the MSU School of Planning, Design and Construction, received a $2,000 grant from the MSU College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Undergraduate Research Program fund. -

On Oct. 13, the SPDC participated in the Design & Build Day at Impression 5 Science Museum. This was the second year that HBA of Greater Lansing and Impression 5 organized this event, and this year, SPDC was one of the 11 participating facilitators. -
SPDC’s Landscape Architecture Program wins 4 American Society of Landscape Architects awards

Each year, the ASLA Student Awards provide a glimpse into the future of the profession. This year, the MSU LA Program received four of the Michigan Chapter of the ASLA Awards, including three awards for student projects and one faculty project award. -

SPDC hosted two Grandparents University Courses in June

Grandparents University at Michigan State University is a three-day educational experience that takes place at the end of June, where grandparents and grandchildren (ages 8-12) can live the college life of wondering on the MSU campus. -
