Corn leaf aphids continued to settle into corn fields this week. Tar spot is in several counties but at low pressure. Soybean pods progressed toward full seed. -

Large rainfall accumulations halted fieldwork and resulted in standing water in many fields. Most soybeans reached reproductive stages, and low levels of tar spot were confirmed in Branch County. -

Warm temperatures led to increased crop growth, rapid weed growth and post-emergent herbicide applications. Low levels of Fusarium head blight were detected. Second cutting of forages began. -
