2024 West Central Spring Horticulture Meeting

The meeting will provide attendees with updated information related to commercial fruit production.  The program will start with an update on the MAEAP Program through the Oceana Conservation District.  Dr. Randy Beaudry will discuss Lenticel injury in apples and internal browning in Honeycrisp apples.  Dr. John Wise will be on hand to discuss borers in stone fruit.  Dr. Julianna Wilson will provided talks on the topics of pest updates for the 2024 growing season and understanding black stem borer in orchards.  The MSU Produce Safety Team will provide an update on produce safety considerations for the 2024 season and Dr. Todd Einhorn will discuss crop load management and precision thinning.   The meeting will finish-up with a pruning demonstration at the Research Station and at Lewis Orchards.

Morning refresments and lunch are provied.  Pesticide applicator credits have been requested for this meeting.
