Objectives:

The 4-H Shooting Sports Adult & Teen Instructors Certification Workshop provides leaders an opportunity to:
  • Develop and improve skills in teaching shooting sports activities to youth
  • Work toward certification to become a Michigan 4-H Shooting Sports certified instructor in a variety of shooting disciplines
  • learn how to develop, expand and maintain local 4-H Shooting Sports programs
  • Exchange ideas for local and State 4-H Shooting Sports programs with other leaders

Why:

All MI 4-H Shooting Sports Clubs must have instructors who have been certified through an official 4-H workshop in order to offer live-fire, on-range shooting and archery experiences to youth members.

How:

To register, use the link below.  All volunteers must have completed the Volunteer Selection Process and be in an Active/Gold status prior to attending the September event. In addition, all participants must complete the learning videos (modules) in Volunteer Central at least one week prior to attending. If modules are not completed; we reserve the right to cancel your registration. Details about the videos are available in the receipt from registration and include:
  • Introduction to Michigan 4-H
  • Working with Youth
  • 4-H Shooting Sports: Introduction

Following registration, volunteers will have these required videos marked for viewing through their volunteer dashboard in Volunteer Central. Individuals with poor or limited internet access may view videos at their county office by scheduling an appointment prior to September 8th with their county 4-H Staff professional. If desired workshop is full, please select an alternate session.

$130.00 - Registered Adults that have completed the Volunteer Selection Process, 4-H teen volunteers and MSU Extension staff.

Persons canceling without a replacement after September 8th or who do not show up at the workshop will be billed the full registration fee.

Certification requires full participation in both days of training.
