Dr. Kurt Fausch, Professor Emeritus, Colorado State University

“A Reverence for Rivers: Imagining an Ethic for Running Waters”

Dr. Kurt Fausch is a stream ecologist and Professor Emeritus at Colorado State University in the Department of Fish, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology (FWCB) where he taught and conducted research for 35 years. He was also a charter member and Acting Director of the Graduate Degree Program in Ecology (GDPE) and active in the Water Center. He currently serves on the Independent Scientific Review Panel which evaluates projects to restore native salmon and trout in the Columbia River basin for the Northwest Power and Conservation Council and the Science Advisory Board for the Trinity River Restoration Program, and speaks about why rivers are essential for fish and people.

The seminar will take place in the Packaging Building, room 100 (next to Natural Resources) followed by a reception at 4pm in Natural Resources, room 183 (the Polar Bear Room).
