Hourly Rate: $29.38—$50.34 (depends on educational status)
Schedule: 20 hrs per week (schedule is negotiable); maximum of 975 hours
Term: June 2026 to June 2027
Duties: The student will provide technical, communication, and administrative support to the Midwest Climate Adaptation Science Center. The student will be responsible for: 1) contributing to climate impacts and adaptation assessments, 2) conducting searches for peer-reviewed information on climate impacts and adaptation, 3) developing summaries, reports, and presentations, 4) providing general center support (e.g., database management, reporting, and logistics).
This is an excellent opportunity for students to: develop a firm understanding of climate change, understand natural resource management opportunities and challenges, develop a strong understanding of the roles and responsibilities of federal agencies, and develop an understanding of best practices in climate communication.
Requirements: Students must be at least 18 years of age, enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program (Wildlife, Biology, Ecology, Natural Resource Science and Management, or related field), and should have completed a minimum 2 years of undergraduate education. Experience with literature review, synthesis, science communication, and professional communication is essential. Students must also have access to a computer (not provided). Recent graduates (less than one year) may also apply.
