Huber Resources Corp. (HRC) is currently accepting applications for a forester intern based out of Marquette, MI. Huber Resources Corp., a division of J.M. Huber Corporation, combines its decades long history in timberland management, appraisal and consulting to provide clients worldwide with the highest level of professional services in the timberland management and forestry consulting sector. Our timberland management services provide full-scope management services on over 1.5 million acres of timberland in the continental United States. Through our acquisition of Compass Land Consultants in 2023 HRC has broadened its offerings in the Lake States and is currently providing forest management services to large and small landowners on over 450k acres throughout the region.

We are seeking qualified applicants to join our team as forester interns as follows:

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

1. Observes, practices and communicates HRC Environmental, Health and Safety Policies

2. Delineates harvest areas, protection zones, and sensitive areas on the ground.

3. Selects and marks trees with paint within specific harvest areas to meet harvest prescription.

4. Maintains boundary lines.

5. Helps delineate road right of ways

6. Conducts forest inventory tasks.

7. Assessment and monitoring tasks.

Requirements & Preferred Competencies

1. Driver’s license

2. Open to Forestry, Natural Resources, or Environmental Science students and graduates

3. Physical ability to work full-time in a forest setting

4. Ability to work independently in the field

5. Working knowledge of GPS hardware and GIS applications

6. Working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word

Term: The position will begin immediately after Spring term.

Compensation: Starting salary will be based on education and experience
