At the Southwest Michigan Research and Extension Center, we hung up fake dead crows in our tomato trial and it appears to have had a multi-species effect, keeping the red winged black birds out that were using the stakes as perches. Other techniques include using narrower dowel-like stakes and reflective tape. Photo by Ben Phillips, MU Extension.
