FTC health claim substantiation:

The Federal Trade Commission’s just-published Health Products Compliance Guidance provides advice on substantiating health claims in advertising. Read more here.

FDA & USDA uniform compliance date:

FDA and USDA established January 1, 2026, as the uniform compliance date for food labeling regulations published January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2024. Read more here and here.

Generic label approval:

FSIS is amending its regulations to expand the circumstances under which it will generically approve the labels of meat, poultry, and egg products. Read more here.

Sesame:

Effective January 1, 2023, foods containing sesame are subject to specific food allergen source labeling requirements. Read more here.

Yogurt:

FDA amended the standard of identity for yogurt. Read more here.

Alcohol beverages:

The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau will seek input for new rules regarding labeling of alcohol beverages. Read more here.
