Hull honored by Ecological Society of America group

Vanessa Hull has received the Outstanding Graduate Student Award from the Ecological Society of America’s Asian Ecology Section, an award that promotes recognition of ecologists who have made substantial contributions to the development of Asian ecological research.
She received the award, which includes a cash prize, at the group’s annual meeting in Portland, Ore., in early August.
She was nominated by her adviser Jianguo “Jack” Liu, who, in part, noted:
“She has made 13 field trips to Wolong Nature Reserve in southwestern China with a total of 35 months. In the field, Vanessa and her field assistants often walked (or crawled) 12-14 hours a day in the high mountains with rough terrain and complex topography in order to obtain accurate field data and measurements of panda habitat and behavior.”
