Nalishebo Meebelo wins International Alumni Award from her alma mater

PRCI Executive Committee member Nalishebo Meebelo wins International Alumni Award from Edith Cowan University

Joondalup, Australia – November 23, 2022, Dr. Nalishebo Meebelo, Executive director of the Regional Network of Agricultural Policy Research Institutions, (ReNAPRI), was awarded the 2021 International Alumni Award from her alma mater Edith Cowan University. Meebelo was bestowed the award in light of her longstanding leadership across nations. Her remarkable work is at the forefront of the transformation of African agriculture, including the creation and expansion of ReNAPRI, which recently celebrated 10 years of engagement and support of local policy research institutes, the upcoming African Union sponsored 2023 Fertilizer and Soil Health Summit, and co-ordination with AKADEMIYA2063 as lead institutions for the Comprehensive Action for Climate Change Initiative – Africa (CACCI-Africa), as well as her work mentoring and nurturing students to bring about sustainable change.


The International Alumni Award recognizes graduates of Edith Cowan University as global citizens, making a difference across the world and contributing to the culture, society, and economy. The awardees are chosen based on nominee’s professional achievements, leadership qualities and global impact, both through their career and in other areas of life. ReNAPRI is supported by the Innovation Lab for Food Security Policy, Research, Capacity, and Influence (PRCI).
