Since graduating in 1992 from the Michigan State University School of Packaging (SoP), Teri Goodman has happily given hours of her time to the MSU Packaging Alumni Association (MSUPAA) and the students of the SoP.

While balancing her full-time job in technical sales at Graphic Packaging International (GPI), she has actively participated in the PAA Career Fair preparation day by offering her industry expertise to help the students gain confidence in their interviewing skills. Teri has participated on the industry panel for the student organizations Pi Kappa Gamma and CoPPAC, offering guidance and words of advice to students to prepare them for their internship interviews.

Teri is supportive of all MSU PAA events. She regularly staffs the MSU PAA Pack Expo booth and attends the alumni reception. She has strengthened the MSUPAA with her engagement and contribution to activities that add merit to the association.

Beyond the MSUPAA, Teri has contributed directly to the SoP and the student organizations as a guest lecturer for Dr. Speck’s Paperboard course, guest speaker for CoPPAC and host of educational tours at her manufacturing facility. She has supported the student’s Ignite Session as a presenter the past three years.

Teri is an instrumental leader for the GPI interviewing team and has had the privilege of hiring eight students for internships. Teri co-created the successful GPI internship program and is a key mentor to the students to ensure their early career success. Teri has a passion for teaching and guiding our future packaging industry professionals and is making a direct impact through her time and service to the MSUPAA and SoP.
