The Bug House had its annual Halloween Open House Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, and despite the weather being damp and cool, approximately 120 visitors attended. Kids of all ages got to see, touch and hold spooky tarantulas, hissing cockroaches, superworms and death-feigning beetles. A spider web craft project and coloring pages were available as well as plenty of displays of insects and, of course, candy!

A big thank you to all the volunteers who helped out, including Courtney Weatherbee, Rose Borror, Beauchamp Thomas, Julia Brokaw, Dan Gibson, Joseph Lonchar, Anthony Cognato, Carolyn Devereaux, Bernice Demarco and Gary Parsons.

Be sure to mark your calendars for our upcoming open houses:

  • Monday, Nov. 9 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
  • Monday, Dec. 14 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, Dec. 27 from 1-4 p.m. (Holiday Open House)
