Michigan Sea Grant Impacts
The Sustainable Small Harbor project, funded by Michigan Sea Grant and partners, has helped communities identify barriers preventing small harbors from becoming economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable.
Michigan Sea Grant supports the Great Lakes fisheries through teaching about the connection we have to the Lakes; through research that directly or indirectly has an impact on the fisheries; and through outreach to communities.
Michigan Sea Grant is a leader in Great Lakes literacy and science education, helping to create a network of educators, students, and informed citizens who share their knowledge of and commitment to Great Lakes stewardship with others.
Michigan Sea Grant focuses on four areas: Healthy Coastal Ecosystems, Sustainable Fisheries and Aquaculture, Resilient Communities and Economies, and Environmental Literacy and Workforce Development.
