After earning my B.S. in Sustainable Parks, Recreation, and Tourism and working in the Applied Nematology lab as an undergraduate research assistant, I chose to continue my path in academia by pursing a masters degree in Entomology. Through an assistanship with the Applied Nematology lab; my research project focuses on creating long-term management solutions using organic manure-based amendments for root-lesion (Pratelyenchus Penetrans) nematode populations, in potato cropping systems. The goal of this study is to replicate actual growing conditions of Michigan potato farmers and analyze changes within the soil microbiome and the experimental treatments, as well as the treatment's effect on the nematode population.
