Christine Heverly
Christine Heverly is a Michigan State University Extension Educator with Children and Youth Programming. Christine’s primary office is in Clinton County.
In this role, Christine focuses on volunteer training and relationship development in her statewide role for the volunteer excellence support team. This includes creating safe program environments, developing standardized online orientation materials for the MSU Extensions Volunteer Learning Modules, training resources and opportunities for volunteers, and developing relationships for volunteers.
Christine was the project director for the Ready to Go: Volunteer Training toolkit published in 2020, Co-Principal Investigator for 4-H STEAM Corps grant, an AmeriCorps program MSU Extension hosted from 2018-2022, and takes leadership for staff training around screening volunteers this includes Screening (Volunteer) Applicants for Effectiveness training and Interviewing Potential Volunteer Applicants.
Christine has been with MSU Extension since 2008 serving in many capacities including two AmeriCorps terms supporting 4-H mentoring programs, Program Instructor with supporting 4-H mentoring programs, 4-H Program Coordinator supporting Eaton County, and Supervising Educator
Christine holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Grand Valley State University and a Master of Arts in Youth Development from Michigan State University.
