Doug Slater is a doctoral student in the Department of Community Sustainability at Michigan State University with a specialization in Ecological Food and Farming Systems. His research interests include a social-ecological approach to sustainable food production through representing human behavior and decision-making processes in models of complex, interactive systems.

Doug is also a scholar with the Sustainable Michigan Endowed Project (SMEP). His hobbies include gardening, biking, cross country skiing, and snowboarding.
