I did my PhD thesis on development of surface water quality monitoring tools in the upper Omo river, Blue Nile and Upper Awash rivers using biological, physicochemical and hydrological parameters and modelling. For the past five years, I have been also active on research related to dams, wetlands and rivers (river management and safe delta). I have several publications (see on research gate). I received both international (IFS, BMGF) and local (Ethiopian Ministry of Water) research grants that have been executed in the upper Omo river with scientific publication outputs. I received an award of Laurate on Tropical Limnology Research from Belgian Oversea Science. Currently, I am interested in echohydrology research particularly in nature based solutions along the Omo river and lake Turkana.
