My research interests focus in understanding how social differences, specifically those based on gender, can affect the implementation of agricultural innovations; or how the introduction of technologies in agricultural settings can impact women´s and men´s lives. Also, I am interested in identifying women´s contribution to agriculture and analyzing women´s empowerment in rural areas. I use multiple methodological approaches, including qualitative and quantitative techniques. I have worked mainly with Latin American smallholders in countries such as Colombia, Nicaragua, and Ecuador.
