Dr. Snider teaches invertebrate Biology, Introduction to Zoo and Aquarium Science, and guest lectures in various Entomology courses. His research is centered around soil zoology, especially the arthropods.  A large project involves the taxonomy and distribution of Collembola in the southeastern United States, revision of the genus Sminthurus, the Collembola of Bermuda, and numerous new species descriptions occupy his time when not advising students and teaching. Further, he curates the Collembola (and other apterygotes), isopods, spiders, and related arachnids in the A. J. Cook Arthropod Research Collection.
