Country Harbor Agency was created in 2020 when two career industry professionals came together to develop an Agency aimed at providing the Commercial Agriculture, Farm, and Agriculture related industries with a robust line of products to help meet their insurance needs. The Agency then expanded its reach into other industries and now serves a large mix of Agriculture, Commercial Business, and Personal Lines insureds with access to a sizable collection of carriers.  The Agency is currently operating in the Midwest region and is seeking independent contractor salespersons who desire to grow a book of business that increases in rewards as their book of business grows.

The ideal independent contractor will offer or learn to offer the following activities and posses the following characteristics:

The Personal and Commercial Lines Independent Contractor Salesperson for Country Harbor Agency (Agency) will provide services for maximizing profitable relationships with insureds/prospective insureds and for growing the Agency book of business through new policy sales, maintaining existing policies, and cross-selling new products to current insureds.

 

Contracted Activities

  • Identify, qualify, and develop opportunities with new and existing insureds in person, online, by phone, and through written
  • Foster and maintain excellent relationships with new and existing insureds through regular follow-up, accurate and timely proposals, and general account
  • Respond to, anticipate, and follow-up with current and prospective insureds’ needs, incoming inquiries, and gather all necessary information to present
  • Network and prospect for new insureds and actively review existing accounts for cross-sell
  • Obtain proposals from various carriers for prospective insureds based on their expressed needs, process proposals, and bind coverage. Follow-up with insureds’ and carriers’ requests as necessary with inspections, photos, and other requested
  • Present policies to insureds and educate them on coverages and
  • Support and prepare insureds for renewal and retention and maintain strong relationships with insureds through regular
  • Follow-up with insureds’ accounts receivable, collection, billing, audits, and carrier requested
  • Plan and report yearly and quarterly sales target and plan of execution. Monitor, review, and report on key metrics to ensure sales targets are
  • Collaborate with Agency employees and management, provide expertise, answer questions, and participate in Agency meetings as

 

Expected Activities

  • Hold or obtain and maintain the insurance license, with corresponding CE requirements, required by the state that the Agency and Independent Contractor Salesperson is operating in and participate in ongoing
  • Keep informed regarding industry information, new and existing product information, legislation, coverages, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and
  • Operate within the Agency Brand and display a positive, display a helpful attitude while contributing   to create a friendly and professional office environment for insureds and Agency

 

Desired Characteristics

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of insurance products and usages, rating procedures, underwriting procedures, coverages, and industry operations to effectively secure new business and maintain existing
  • Possess strong presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skill with the ability to close
  • Be people-oriented and professionally assertive in developing new and prospective insureds’ relationships while servicing existing
  • Demonstrate sound business judgment, strong decision making, and display strong written and verbal communication
  • Possess excellent math and reading skills to accurately perform simple
  • Have strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, organization, multi- tasking, and follow up
  • Have technology and computer proficiency, including agency management systems (currently Applied Epic).
