Garden Visitor and Tour Information


The MSU Horticulture Gardens are open daily from sunrise to sundown.

The MSU Horticulture Garden parking lot (lot #54) is free on weekends (unless there is a home football game or an event at the Wharton Center) and is a 'pay by plate' parking lot.  For more information on how pay-by-plate works and current hourly parking charges, visit the MSU Police Parking Page.  A portion of the fees are used to support the Gardens.

All of the formal portions of our gardens are handicapped-accessible.

Two family restrooms are located between the 4-H Children's Garden and the Schoolyard Demonstration Garden. Additional restrooms are located in the Plant and Soil Science Building. A blue line is taped on the floor of the head house (work area of the greenhouse located in the Plant and Soil Sciences building) that will lead visitors to the inside bathroom during university business hours. Another public restroom is also located at the east side of the Food Safety and Toxicology building.

An outdoor drinking fountain is located next to the two family restrooms adjacent to the 4-H CHildren's Garden. More fountains are in the Plant and Soil Sciences building near the restrooms.

Pets, smoking and skateboards are not allowed in the garden. Picnicking is permitted but please leave alcoholic beverages at home.
