Under general supervision and with independent judgment maintains and repairs electrical and HVAC systems, electronic components of  machinery, and equipment on one or more of the company properties by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Maintains company facility and other company-owned properties by performing activities such as:
    1. Making minor and routine equipment repairs.
    2. Notifying management concerning need for major equipment repairs.
    3. Recording mileage, changing oil, and performing other activities on company vehicles.
    4. Cleaning and maintaining work areas and equipment.
  2. Ensures maintenance of grounds by performing activities such as:
    1. Mowing lawns.
    2. Watering, weeding, grooming and replacing external and internal plants as needed.
    3. Removing snow, litter or other items.
    4. Tree trimming and shrub trimming. 
    5. Monitors and assigns work for student associates as needed. 
    6. This position requires a Michigan Commercial pesticide applicator license. (Commercial Core, 3A, 3B and 6) 
  3. Decorates interior or exterior of company facilities for various holidays.
  4. Reviews company owned properties and recommends improvements to grounds. 
  5. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 2-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
  • Currently hold a Michigan commercial pesticide applicator’s license.
  • Horticulture knowledge a big plus
  • Experience with hand tools and machinery (pruners, loppers, mowers, etc.)
  • Willingness to work hard outdoors in varying weather conditions daily.
