Kalamazoo Garden Design & Maintenance is a residential design/build firm servicing high end residential gardens. With full installation and maintenance services we develop & keep our clients gardens looking beautiful. Kalamazoo Garden Design is a small company operating primarily in the Kalamazoo area. Our focus is to provide our clients with the highest quality of design, workmanship, garden maintenance and customer service.

Ideal candidate preferably has minimum 1-2 years experience with landscaping. Experience in plant recognition, hand-pruning, and general horticulture garden practice is desired, along with experience in, or a willingness to learn, seasonal flower installation layout/design and small garden installation, while continuing to develop/enhance the fine gardening skills of the crew.

 Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain seasonal plants
  • Mulch, edge and weed gardens
  • Prune and trim trees and bushes
  • Maintain all gardening equipment and machinery, like trimmers and leaf blowers

 

Skills

  • Experience as a Gardener
  • Knowledge of regional plant life
  • Knowledge of local pests and how to eliminate them naturally
  • Knowledge of natural fertilizers
  • Knowledge of state health and safety regulations for landscaping
  • The ability to lift heavy objects
  • The ability to remain on your feet for long periods of time
  • A high school degree or GED

Compensation & Benefits 

  • $28,000 to $40,000 /year  and performance-based bonuses
  • Paid Holidays and vacations
