Compensation: $50,000 – 70,000 based on education and experience level

Shift: Monday to Friday with flexibility to infrequently cover weekends when needed

Certification Required: Pesticide license is a benefit but not required

Company: Third Coast Produce LLC dba Lake Land Fresh Farms

Title: Hydroponic Grower

Reporting to: President

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure uninterrupted production of fresh produce from our hydroponic facility.
  • Ensure production levels meet or exceed budgeted figures
  • Supervise a team of associates to ensure an efficient operation
  • Day to day responsibilities of all R&D and trialing to improve yield and quality as well as reduced pest and operation costs
  • Develop a culture of food safety within the team and operation
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for all stages of operation
  • Respond to and address daily needs within the system. This will involve coordination with senior management, facilities, vendors
  • Address alarms and system notifications when needed
  • Oversee scouting, Integrated Pest Management, nutrition management
  • Inventory management
  • Communication with sales team and forecasting
  • Trial coordination of new seed, practices and equipment
  • Nutrient sample collection
  • Work closely with management to develop and provide regular metrics reports to clearly convey system productivity, efficiency, forecasting and limitations.

Attributes needed:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in plant biology
  • Experience in the operation of a hydroponic facility is preferred
  • Computer skills especially Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Ability to work with others and to create and maintain a positive atmosphere
  • Ability to recognize problems and problem solve
  • Critical thinking skills
