Job Description
Railside Orchards | Orchard Internship
Exempt | Hourly and Seasonal Worker | Reports to the Owner/Orchard Manager 40-55 hours per week
Beginning Wage $16 per hour
Qualifications & Education
Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license
Minimum of one year of horticulture/agriculture education at a college or university Farm experience preferred
Tree fruit experience preferred

Honest and trustworthy
Responsibilities
Working outdoors in most weather
Be punctual and observe regular and consistent attendance
Attend required staff and safety meetings and complete all required training Contribute to a positive team environment
Properly and safely use farm equipment such as tractors, forklifts, bush hog, etc. Assist in new apple orchard planting including but not limited to:
Planting about 50,000 Ellepots and nursery trees Layout and construction of orchard trellis Instillation of drip irrigation
Assist in orchard maintenance including but not limited to: Pruning
Mowing or bush hogging
Assist in IPM (Integrated Pest Management) including but not limited to Scouting for pests
Weed spraying
Assist in the maintenance and repairs of orchard equipment
Report necessary information regarding equipment and maintenance to the Owner/Orchard Manager
Continuously sit, stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours, twist, reach, bend, stoop and be able to lift/carry up to 100lbs Perform all other duties that may be assigned
