2023 Animal Science Camp Day 4

Camp is wrapping up; we’re having so much fun!

Here's what our campers did today!!

Pony Snacks!

Sedona and Grizz got some yummy treats from the campers today which had carrots, apples and molasses. They ran over to the horses in excitement to see them!

Migration game

Ever wondered what it’d be like to be a bird and migrate to somewhere warm? Campers pretended to be birds migrating south. They roll dice and go to that spot with the same number on the dice, then read the description such as either they got sick, they can continue and more. Some of the campers got really into it and acted out what was on the prompt.

Can you catch a chicken?

Chickens.jpg

We had our campers catch chickens today as an animal chore! Just kidding we didn't, sometimes the campers ask their EDU Leader to grab one so they can hold it. The chickens aren't fans of people and will back away from you which makes it very difficult. They love collecting chicken eggs which you can actually buy here!

Garden Kitchen: Spidey power oat balls & buttermilk biscuits

Spider-Man, Spider-Man! These oat balls will make you super strong like Spider-Man maybe give you powers… They’re made with oats, chocolate chips, maple syrup, vanilla extract, flax seed and sunbutter. Our most popular buttermilk biscuits are back this week! Campers were pumped and they cheered this morning in excitement!

Hey! That’s my apple!

We’re going apple pickin! Campers headed over to our apple orchard to pick some apples then draw the ones they picked. They did so well with sharing the markers, their drawings were so good!

STEAM Creature Creation: rebuilding creatures & habitat building.

Time to finish our creatures! Some did end up breaking so campers are going to rebuild it, then they can create the background of their creature’s habitat. It’s so fun seeing their drawings come to life.

Garden time

We put our campers to work and they helped in the garden today! They learned how to pull weeds to help the plants grow and water the plants to keep them hydrated. With the spare time, they practiced their skits which you can come see tomorrow at 3:15 and watch them show us what they’ve learned this week. It’s so cute!
