Matt Danhof receives the 2017 Packaging Alumni Association Innovation Award

A 2002 graduate of the Michigan State School of Packaging, Matt Danhof has over 15 years of packaging industry experience. Matt began his career in packaging quality working for Labels Unlimited. He then moved to Ring Container, where he has had roles as a production manager and, most recently, an operations improvement manager. While with Ring Container, Matt developed a computer application that performs real-time analysis of process data from multiple pieces of manufacturing equipment that predicts plastic bottle quality defects and equipment failures before they occur. To develop this application, Matt assembled a team of processing experts and identified key process indicators and equipment functions to help predict equipment failure and quality defects.  Matt’s application has successfully predicted many equipment failures, greatly reducing material waste and equipment downtime.  Matt is in the process of applying for a patent for his application.
