Splish Splash: Day 5
Animal Safari - Mango
Since it is Friday, we went on an Animal Safari instead of a specific chore, so some chose to with the goats, other went to the chickens, and for a special surprise from our English Riding horse campers, we had a lovely Shetland Pony named Mango visit us! The campers gave Mango some back pats, which he absolutely loved, and often turned his head as if to say, hello!
Watercolors
What could be a more fitting activity for a Water-filled week other than watercolors? The campers got to paint lovely pictures of anything they wanted, from this weeks' activities to lots and lots of smiling faces! It was so great to see how each camper's imagination created such beautiful pieces of art, that they would also be able to take home with them to remember all the fun that they had at camp this past week!
Pond Dipping
This is an activity that involves going to our small but lively stream that lives very close to our Tollgate pond. A lot of our pond animal are really really small, and require magnifying glasses to be observed. The campers had to take small fishing nets and we dipped them in the stream
Boat Test!
Time to test! The boats that we made throughout this week are finally going to float on water! The boats were put into a tub filled with water, and wow are our campers so amazing at creating boats, because almost all of them were able to float! Some got filled with water, and it was a great way to learn about what you can improve upon as well.
Zucchini & Smoothies
Mores pizza! Zucchini Pizza, that we made with mozzarella, basil, basil, and a sprinkle of oregano. The zucchini slices were so small you could put the entire thing in your mouth in one bite! It was so interesting to taste a cheese pizza with a zucchini crust, and in the afternoon a refreshing Apple Smoothie to grab and go before heading to the main event of the day!
Time to Slide!
It is time for the long-awaited, main event of the day! Our fabulous slip-n-slide stretches from the top of the hill and almost to the pavilion! We turned on the hose and poured some dish soap, got some pool tubes, and the we were ready to slide! And as with many other events, much fun and lots of giggles were had!
Skits & Songs
After the main event, we brought our parents down to our pavilion from their normal checkout spot, and the campers performed their songs and skits for their parents to enjoy, most of the skits reflected what the campers learned while in camp this week, and the songs were very entertaining.
