The Michigan State University Extension Center for Local Government Policy and Finance is releasing a series of white papers covering the most pressing issues facing upcoming elected officials. The series, called Michigan at a Crossroads, begins with a white paper detailing Michigan tax policy. In this eight-page white paper, you will find a brief overview of the Michigan tax system, what a "good" tax system could look like, and several possible policy proposals.
