Sylvan Table Assistant Farm Manager

Sylvan Table farm is seeking an Assistant Farm Manager. Sylvan Table is a farm to table restaurant in Sylvan Lake, Michigan. The restaurant is situated on five acres of land including a micro-farm, edible and ornamental landscaping, 3 high tunnels, and 3 ponds. The mission of the farm is to cultivate both food and beauty for restaurant patrons to eat and enjoy during their experience at the site. The Sylvan Table Assistant Farm Manager works with the Farm Manager to execute all farm and landscaping responsibilities.

We are seeking a creative, motivated and experienced individual looking for a leadership opportunity to practice, cultivate, and apply their skills in a multifaceted environment. Two years of farm and garden experience is preferred but we are open to training the right candidate who is excited and dedicated to learning.

Farm responsibilities include but are not limited to:

seedling propagation
bed preparation
harvesting
planting
weeding
irrigating
plant and infrastructure maintenance

Landscaping responsibilities include but are not limited to:

planting
pruning
designing
maintaining
harvesting
propagating
weeding
mulching

Compensation and Hours-

Competitive salary TBD based on experience. Benefits include a daily family style meal in the restaurant (optional), and opt-in health care and dental insurance after 30 days of employment (optional). Position starts immediately with work days Monday-Friday and occasional weekend responsibilities. Hours vary through the farm season.
