Greenwise is Chicago's leading sustainable landscape company providing organic lawn care, landscape maintenance and landscape installation services. We are a fast-growing company looking for a horticultural expert to round out our team! We are seeking an experienced individual for this role who will manage our Garden Maintenance Program and Seasonal Rotations and take both services to the next level. This individual will bring prior landscape experience with a focus on high end garden care, seasonal rotations, and plant knowledge, including native plantings.

Essential responsibilities include:

  • Connect and discuss with crew members, clients, and vendors for successful project completion in residential and commercial gardens
  • Willingness and desire to work with clients on a custom garden maintenance program
  • Direct horticultural timing of full service/garden maintenance and pruning
  • Train and guide crew members on best practices as needed
  • Maintain a flexible, positive and professional attitude in a range of circumstances
  • Follow direction and guidance from management team
  • Work independently and solve problems with minimal supervision as well as work collaboratively with crew members and effectively accept direction from supervisors
  • Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities
  • Approve and edit service schedule; alert clients to their upcoming schedule date
  • Assist with budget maintenance, material acquisition, and tool inventory Skills should include (but are not limited to):
  • 3 to 5 years of Horticulture experience, preferably with some experience directly managing crews
  • Ability to work in all safe weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work at a quick pace
  • Knowledge of applied horticulture techniques (plant identification, planting, weeding, pruning, grooming, )
  • Competence using and training others on landscape maintenance equipment and tools (mower, weed-whip, blower, power shears, and hand tools, )
  • Experience with design and installation of seasonal rotations
  • English language fluency a must; Spanish language a plus

Salary: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year in accordance with experience and qualifications Benefits:

This includes participation in snow removal services between November and March. This may involve supervision of crews or a territory. If you are willing to work on a crew, there would be additional compensation for doing so.
